3800 Weber Road, St. Louis County

In 2005, a forward-thinking real estate developer saw potential in a huge, vacant, rusting former steel bridge fabricating plant in south St. Louis County, MO.  With the encouragement of St. Louis County Business Assistance Center, he purchased the 500,000 plus square foot collection of high-bay buildings and began to subdivide the space for lease to other businesses.

Inside/Out, working with Miltenberger Architects, Inc., designed two large portions of the main building for two different businesses: a company specializing in the restoration of large turbines and a company manufacturing plastic “blister pack” packaging materials.

In both cases, office space and break room, toilets and locker facilities for factory employees was inserted within the high-bay space, new entrances, loading docks and overhead doors located on the exterior, and lighting and power located in shop areas.
